Series of watercolors on paper created between 2020 and 2021, during the lockdowns due to the pandemic. The name of the series is a reference to Octavio Paz’s poem of the same title. In the poem different lifeforms come into being in a circular and parallel time. This watercolor series is meant as a visual reflection and interpretation about relationships between beings, inspired on various concepts such as "autopoiesis" from Humberto Maturana, "bios-mythoi worldview" by Sylvia Wynter, relationality by Édouard Glissant, entanglement by Marisol de la Cadena and Octavio Paz' poetry.

The different views and patterns used in the compositions suggest an interplay between microscopic and macroscopic organizations in nature. The work proposes an understanding of nature as a living organism which is being constantly transformed by the interplay between species and poses the question about human influence, keeping in mind the current situation in which a microscopic being has changed our lives in global scale.

"Ecologies, infrastructures, entanglements. Anthropology and social studies of science (STS) have found some unsuspected common groundings in the relational, emergent, and self-organizational affordances of these three conceptual systems. Vibrant yet fragile, interactive and responsive while simultaneously resilient and solicitous, the earthy and muddled and tenacious engagements afforded by ecologies, infrastructures, and entanglements have brought new sources of analytical vitality and valence to social theory. These are languages of description that conjure worlds of material and biotic interdependencias, human and nonhuman agencies weaving themselves into and around filaments of energy, matter, history, and decay. Worlds that hold on; worlds that creep up. Spider worlds and spiderwebs calling for spiderweb anthropologies."

Alberto Corsín Jiménez, Spiderweb Anthropologies: Ecologies, Infrastructures, Entanglements
"The difference between Relation and totality lies in the fact that Relation is active within itself, whereas totality, already in its very concept, is in danger of immobility. Relation is open to totality; totality would be relation at rest. Totality is virtual. For movement is precisely that which realizes itself absolutely. Relation is movement."

Édourad Glissant, Poetics of Relation
"Now if you look at living systems such as the beehive, they are purely biological eusocial systems. Our human eusocial systems are instead >>hybrid languaging cum storytelling (if biologically implemented) living systems<<; but they function according to laws analogous to those regulatory laws of the supra-poetic system, which is to beehive. So I call these the >>laws if hybrid human auto-speciation<<, thereby of >>autopoiesis<<. Yet what we also find is that these laws, as the very condition of their ostensibly >>extra humanly<< mandated functioning, are nevertheless ones that have hitherto been enacted >>outside<< of our conscious awareness --even though we ourselves have always rigorously and behaviorally adhered to them as indispensable to our respective genre-specific praxes of being hybridity human!"

"Humans are, then, a biomutationally evolved, hybrid species—storytellers who now storytellingly invent themselves as being purely biological. With this, particular (presently biocentric) macro-origin stories are overrepresented as the singular narrative through which the stakes of human freedom are articulated and marked."

"Once you redefine being human in hybrid mythoi and bios terms, and therefore in terms that draw attention to the relativity and original multiplicity of our genres of being human, all of a sudden what you begin to recognize is the central role that our discursive formations, aesthetic fields, and systems of knowledge must play in the performative enactment of all such genres of being hybridly human."

"A crystal willow, a polar of water,
a tall fountain the wind arches over,
a tree deep-rooted yet dancing still,
a course of a river that turns, moves on,
doubles back, and comes full circle,
forever arriving:
the calm course
of the stars or an unhurried spring,
water with eyes closed welling over
with oracles all night long,
a single presence in a surge of waves,
wave after wave till it covers all,
a reign of green that knows no decline,
like the flash of wings unfolding in the sky,
...
